THE ROUTE

One base.
Less packing.

DAY 01 · SAT · 19 DEC

Adelaide → Warrnambool

The positioning day — direct, steady and cabin-first.

01
  1. Adelaide CBD

Leave with a full tank and breakfast packed.

  2. Tailem Bend

Coffee, toilets and a short driver reset.

  3. Keith

Early lunch or 20-minute family break.

  4. Mount Gambier · DIESEL REFILL

Planned fuel stop — fill the 75 L tank to full, stretch and check fridge power.

  5. Discovery Parks · Warrnambool

Late arrival has been advised to the park in advance.

THE KEY DECISION

Halls Gap stays optional.

With an 08:00 Adelaide departure, Day 1 runs directly to Warrnambool and skips Halls Gap. Discovery Parks has been informed of the late arrival, so the family can take proper stretch breaks without chasing the former 16:30 target.

BASE CAMP

Three nights.
One cabin.

Keeping the same Warrnambool base removes daily check-ins and lets the 50 L fridge move into the cabin fridge each night.

Fuel planning uses 10.5 L/100 km. A 520–570 km working range keeps roughly 15–20 L in reserve for holiday traffic, wind, idling and the roof load.

POWER + LOAD

Cold food.
Low centre.

The rear 12 V socket switches off with the car, so the C1000 becomes the always-on bridge between the TANK 300 and the fridge.
